Venetian carnival masks have a long and rich history, with roots going back to early pagan Europe. This class will be in two parts and we'd ideally love to have you for both (but totally ok if you can only attend one). During the first class, on November 8th, we will build up our masks in paper mache from bases (horns, wings, ears, crowns, tentacles....); in the interests of time I will have bases for everyone to start with, but if you are a purist you are welcome to make your own ahead of time (e.g. https://youtube/kIT8o0e6Q1s?feature=shared). Come prepared to make a mess and have fun.
During the second class on November 22nd we will paint and decorate (sequins, feathers, fabrics, anything else you want to bring...) Zero previous knowledge or experience required. If you burn yourself on a glue gun, there will be plenty of doctors around.
Looking forward to it!
